Westhampton Care Center takes great care in recruiting and retaining only the most qualified and reliable employees. Applicants are interviewed and thoroughly screened – including license verifications through accrediting, licensing, and educational bodies, fingerprint checks through the New York State Department of Health, screening through the New York State Sex Offender Registry, and professional references. Employees must provide proof of immunization for Measles, Mumps, and Rubella, be screened for Tuberculosis, and undergo a physical examination with a physician.
Once hired, employees will attend a mandatory orientation session before they are able to work. This day-long class includes education about abuse, neglect, and mistreatment reporting requirements, ergonomics and workforce safety, resident rights, customer service, and company policies and procedures.
